One True God
-
|
1. One True God.
God has revealed Himself as the Creator of all things and the Redeemer of
mankind, who is infinitely perfect and eternally manifested as a Triune Being -
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:11;
Matthew 28:19)
|
-
Scriptures Inspired
-
|
2. Scriptures
Inspired. The Old and New Testaments were given (written) by inspiration of
God, whereby we find the final divine authority for all Christian faith and
practice. (II Timothy 3:15-17)
|
-
Deity of Jesus Christ
-
|
3. Deity of Jesus Christ. The Lord
Jesus Christ is the eternal God who was manifested in this earth as the Son. He
shares in the Deity of God. He is also truly man who was conceived of the Holy
Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for sin
and arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right
hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:23)
|
-
Original Sin and the Fall of Man
-
|
4. Original Sin and
the Fall of Man. Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and
is therefore lost. Only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and by His
resurrection can man have grounds for justification and salvation. This
salvation and spiritual life are obtained by regeneration through the work of
the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1-3)
|
-
Salvation by Faith
-
|
5. Salvation by Faith. Man's salvation
and redemption (a free gift of grace from God) can only be obtained by
exercising faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; not by works of the person, but by
the finished redemptive work of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10)
|
-
The New Man in Christ
-
|
6. The New Man in Christ. If any man be
in Christ, he is a new creature (creation) in the inward man. We are His
workmanship created in Christ Jesus. We are partakers of His divine nature. (II
Peter 1:4; Ephesians 2:10; II Corinthians 5:17)
|
-
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
-
|
7. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The
ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit are to glorify Jesus Christ and to
indwell, guide, and empower believers for life and service. This baptism brings
the divine manifestations of the Holy Spirit and their uses to the forefront of
the ministry of the Body of Christ. This experience is distinct from and
subsequent to the experience of the new birth and is evidenced by the initial
physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
(Acts 2:1-4)

-
Divine Healing and Prosperity
-
8. Divine Healing and Prosperity. The redemptive work of Jesus Christ
provides not only salvation but healing and prosperity as well. (Isaiah 53:3-5;
Matthew 8:16-17; I Peter 2:24; III John 2)
|
-
The Church (the Body of Christ)
-
|
9. The Church (the Body of Christ). The
true Church is the composition of all those who have been born again. Through
the new birth, believers are united together as the Body of Christ. Jesus
Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. (Ephesians 1:22-23)
|
-
Church Ordinances
-
|
10. Church Ordinances.
a. Water Baptism. All who
believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and have been born again are commanded
to be immersed in water as a declaration that they identify with the death of
Christ and have been raised with Him in newness of life. Water baptism is the
"mark" of a New Covenant man. (Mark 16:16; Colossians 2:11-12)
b. The Lord's Supper. It
is a symbolic expression of our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus
Christ as well as a memorial of His suffering, death, and prophecy of His
second coming. When the Lord's Supper is celebrated in faith, men and women
alike can receive what they need from God. (I Corinthians 11:23-31)
|
-
The Resurrection of the Saints
-
|
11. The Resurrection of the Saints. One
day coming, the entire Body of Christ will be caught up together to meet the
Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (I Thessalonians
4:13-18)
|
-
The Second Coming of Christ
-
|
12. The Second Coming of Christ. The
actual, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom and
millennial reign upon the earth. (Matthew 24:27-30)
|
-
Final Judgement
-
|
13. Final Judgment. A day coming when
the wicked dead will be raised and judged with ever-lasting punishment. (Revelation
20:11-15)
